Rider Mechanic and Family Info

This information should be helpful at the Action Sports Arenacross in Columbus:

• • There are RV electric receptacles and water available in the parking lot. There is
  a fee for electric if you plug in. There is also a sewage dump station. RV parking
  is limited come early, it’s your best chance if you want a hookup.
  
• • A few riders were so disrespectful, disruptive and destructive at our host hotel
  years ago they asked us not to return. The Holiday Inn next to the arena is now
  our very nice and convenient host hotel. They will notify us if they have
  problems with anyone riding the event. Anyone that hurts our relationship with
  our host hotel or arena will be disqualified without a refund!!
  
• • The pits are in the arena and will not open until 9:00 AM Friday morning and
  7:00 AM Saturday morning.
  
• • The pit area is heated but it can still be cold when the bikes go in and out of the
  building, be prepared.
  
• • The arena blocks off the street on the west side of the arena for pit parking. We
  have to keep a fire lane open in the street. Don’t block the fire lane.
  
• • For the future of the event, safety and environmental reasons do not pour oil,
  gasoline, antifreeze etc down the drains in the pit building or anywhere else inside
  or out. Please store them in a leak proof container and take them with you.
  
• • Riding anywhere on the grounds other than the race track is the same as riding on
  the city street. The City Police are watching and will ticket you.
  
• • Gas cans are not permitted in the arena. They must be contained outside.
  
• • You must sign the release to have a wrist band to be in the pits and the race
  building. The wrist band is good for practice, qualifying and the main event even
  if the rider does not make the main. The wrist band only gives you access to the
  race building through the pit door that is located on the west end of the building.
  
• • After pro practice the race building and pits will be cleared and will not reopen
  until approximately 6:15 PM. This is 15 minutes before the general admission
  doors will open. You may enter the building and get your seats then.
  
• • There are fast food and sit down restaurants of all kinds within walking distance
  of the arena. If you Google “Pullman Square” you can see what’s there.
  
• • You DO NOT have to buy a pit pass AND a ticket.
  
• • You must be a current AMA member to ride the event and we must see your card
  and expiration date. You can buy or renew an AMA card at the event. If you
  forget your AMA card you will have buy a new one and the AMA will add a year
  on your card.
