High Flying Indoor Motocross racing returns to Huntington

Listen to the West Virginia Indoor Motocross Championship Radio Spot:

The thrills and excitement of the West Virginia Indoor Motocross Championship will return to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington on Friday and Saturday January 13th & 14th 2012 at 7:30 PM.

The Huntington arenacross plays host to hundreds of local mini and amateur riders along with professional riders from the Tri State area and all over the country. Thousands of loyal motorcycle racing enthusiasts pack the arena for two incredible nights of racing.

Competitors beginning at 5 years old on 50cc mini bikes along with amateur riders of all ages and skill levels and an even more talented group of professional riders will compete in the event. Many of these pro riders are seeking thousands in prize money and eventually stardom on the National racing circuit.

Twelve hundred cubic yards of dirt will be used to construct the race track. Double, triple and tabletop jumps will keep the riders flying over 60 feet through the air all weekend long.

Rider registration begins at 10:00 AM with practice at noon, pro practice at 3:00 PM, opening ceremonies at 7:00 PM with racing at 7:30 PM. This schedule is for both Friday and Saturday. To enter the race go to the Indoor Motocross page or click here.

The doors open Friday and Saturday night at 6:00 PM for the 7:30 show. The show usually lasts 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Tickets are available in advance at ticketmaster.com and the Big Sandy Superstore Arena Box office, or charge by phone at 304-696-4400. Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the show and all kids tickets are half price. All seats are reserved.

Action Sports Indoor Motocross began in 1984 and grew into a 15 round series through 1999 in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Having the opportunity and seeing the need to produce rider friendly, top quality events where youth, amateur and professional riders can compete in front of thousands of spectators, we have returned to our two original locations in Columbus, Ohio and Huntington, West Virginia and will continue to expand our indoor events in the near future. We hope to create an exciting and affordable series for youth, amateur and pro class riders and their families.

We offer all of our riders the opportunity to compete for two days in front of thousands of race fans, affordable rider entry fees, no rider pit pass fees and more track time. We also offer our Pro riders thousands in prize money. Pit pass fees for rider family members and mechanics are less than the price of a general admission ticket and it's good for practice, qualifying and the main event.

If you are a racer or enthusiast, we hope you have a great racing experience and enjoy your day. We try to put our riders and their and families first.

We'd like to invite you to our outdoor Grand Prix, Motocross and Harescramble events at the Action Sports Moto Park in Athens, Ohio.
